Changes at the university level drives the need for the OCIO to review our vision and mission. The current OCIO vision and mission does not describe our specifc university IT leadership role. The OCIO leadership team is solicting your feedback on the a draft update of the OCIO vision and mission. The following is the current and proposed OCIO mission:

The following is the current and proposed OCIO vision:

Current Vision:

Linking the worldwide OSU community to foster global thought and leadership.

Proposed Vision:

Be the nation’s best university IT organization.

A vision statement is a representation of what you believe the future should look like for your organization in the eyes of your clients, staff and important stakeholders. The vision statement should be brief, catchy, easy to remember, inspiring and a challenge to future achievement. "Cure Cancer" or "One University" are some examples. The vision statement should focus on what you want to become, not necessarily on what you are now. Key questions to consider are: "What do I see as a key to the future of our organization?" "What unique contributions should we be making in the future?" "What would make me excited about being part of this organization in the future?" Please provide any feedback on the proposed vision statement. What does this proposed vision statement say to you? Can you be passionate about this mission?
