July/Aug 2011 ITSM Manager Talking Points

This message contains a link to the bi-monthly ITSM ‘Meeting in a Box’ slide deck (for July/August 2011). As a reminder, this information is first being provided to Senior Leaders, who are then asked to share (cascade) it among their own teams during regular team meetings.

This update was originally intended for late July, but was held until now to allow the inclusion of the FY12 goals for the IT Service Management Program.  The FY12 goals are a result of feedback from three key sources:  our recent 2011 Process Maturity Assessment, the ITSM Steering Committee, and requirements of other OCIO Blue Chip objectives. Of particular note, the work described for the ITSM FY12 goals are broken into quarters, to more easily allow those team members performing the work, to align and capture it within their FY12 individual performance plans.

I’ve asked the Senior Leaders to share this information in person with their direct reports, and afterwards, ask them to do the same–and so on.

In closing, please continue to encourage your teams to “be curious” and visit the ITSM blog site and OCIO Process Portal referenced at the end of the presentation. Having our team members know that these information sources exist is essential.  We’ll also continue to use the OCIO news blog to push our messages across our organization.
