OCIO Software Installation Policies

Classroom Services will:

  • Install new software requested by faculty and instructional staff to OCIO supported public computers when appropriate media and licenses are provided by customer.
  • Test compatibility and functionality prior to deployment.
  • Attempt to assist with software and licensing based on requests and available funding.
  • Contact customers each year to obtain confirmation that annually renewable software requests are still needed, versions are current, and correct contact info is on file. The customer must respond to this confirmation for software to remain installed.

Customer responsibilities include:

  • Make requests for software installation via the Software Request form on the OCIO Classrooms website.
  • Provide necessary media and licenses to OCIO.
  • Provide any applicable installation notes or settings and agree to test installation on a test machine upon OCIO's request.
  • Provide at least 10 working days notice to OCIO to complete the request.
  • Respond in a timely way to OCIO's annual software renewal request.

To ensure reliability of systems to all users, OCIO Reserves the right to deny a request if that software is deemed incompatible with existing hardware and software.
