To help the university manage IT risk in a more proactive way, the Office of the CIO hired Jennifer Kutz to oversee enterprise-wide risk assessment and remediation.
Kutz, who most recently worked as a consultant at J Wesley Consulting, comes to Ohio State with over 20 years of information technology management and consulting experience. At Ohio State, her responsibilities include project management for various CIO IT security projects including enterprise-wide risk assessment and remediation and the IT security ISO 27002, an internationally accepted standard of good practice for information security.
“I am so excited to join The Ohio State University team because my 9 year old son, Wesley, and I are die-hard Buckeyes [fans], but mainly because helping protect valuable data and raising awareness about the importance of IT security has become a professional passion of mine,” Kutz said, adding, “It is so important for IT security to support the university business endeavors, but just as important to stress our responsibility to protect the university’s data assets....”
Kutz earned her bachelor’s degree in systems analysis/computer science from Miami University. She can be reached by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Information regarding the CIO’s IT Security is available at cio.osu.edu/cybersecurity.
