Michael T. Green recently joined the Office of the Chief Information Officer as its new infrastructure director. He comes to Ohio State from Emerson Electric in St. Louis, where he served as director of global IT infrastructure and operations since 2006.
In that role, Green was responsible for the management of global data centers, system and storage infrastructure and operating systems, and the facilitation of the centralization of IT technology and infrastructure. At Emerson Electric, he built a state-of-the-art data center that earned LEED Gold certification. Additionally, he developed a service catalog, standard cost models for pricing of hosting and data center services, monitoring and success metrics and service level agreements.
Green’s other professional experiences include Emerson’s director of shared services and director of Business Systems Practices; director of information technology for Phillips Electronics and for Tupperware Asia Pacific; and director of technology planning for Premark International.
Green earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Michigan State University, and grew up in Warren, Michigan.
As the senior director of Infrastructure, Green joins the OCIO senior leaders team, reporting directly to the CIO. His responsibilities include data centers, operations, telecommunications & networking, servers, storage, database & middleware support, and access management.
