In addition to curriculum.osu.edu and the Transitional Academic Plan (TAP), another tool is being offered to aid in the move to semesters-based curricula. A new online Course Conversion Guide (CCG) is being made available to translate the current quarter course offerings to the still-developing semester course catalog.
According to John Wanzer, Assistant Provost in the Office of Undergraduate Education, “the Course Conversion Guide will provide OSU students, advisors, faculty, and staff, as well as users from other institutions, with valuable information about the relationships between quarter courses and semester courses. Students and advisors will find the information about sequences, bridge courses, and course exclusions especially helpful in planning appropriate schedules in semesters.”
The online guide will help drive decision-making, through the ability to search both current quarter and future semester course offerings, and discover course associations. Users will be able to search the guide by subject, course number, title, and additional attributes (i.e., General Education, Honors). Users will also be able to obtain information about equivalent, transitional and new courses, as well as converted sequences.
The Course Conversion Guide search results will continue to evolve until all semester program and course approvals are complete. For questions about the CCG please contact John Wanzer or Semesters Conversion Program Director, Carrie Jester.
