New Resource for Faculty & Staff to Explore Online Teaching & Learning

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is pleased to provide OSU faculty and staff with membership access to the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C). This non-profit foundation is dedicated to furthering efforts of educators to integrate online education into the traditional higher education experience. Membership in the Sloan Consortium includes valuable resources to help increase effectiveness in online teaching and learning. Members can also take advantage of discounted pricing on conferences and workshops, free webinars, discussion groups, and peer networking.

"We know how effective the integration of classroom and online teaching methods can be," said Michael Hofherr, OCIO's senior director for Learning Technology. "Our membership in the Sloan Consortium will provide us with a forum for sharing our successes and learning from the great work being done at other institutions."

Sloan-C is the premier association of American colleges and universities committed to quality in online teaching and learning. With more than 1,500 members, the consortium promotes best practices, publishes a leading peer-reviewed journal in the field Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks, hosts national conferences, delivers online faculty workshops, and provides input into federal policies regarding distance learning.
