Each October, The Ohio State University recognizes the annual Celebration of Research month. In support of this celebration, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will exhibit at the Research Expo, hosted by the Office of Research, on Tuesday, October 2, from 9:30 am to noon at the Ohio Union.
In addition to the expo, Caroline Whitacre, vice president for research, will deliver the State of Research address on Tuesday, October 11 at 8:30 am in the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater. This year’s address will focus on the influences that created today’s public research institution, as this year marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Morrill Act, which established the public land grant university.
Immediately following the State of Research address, the 2012 Innovators of the Year will be announced. These awards recognize Ohio State researchers working actively to promote commercialization of university intellectual property through disclosures filed, patents applied for and/or received, technologies licensed, or spinoff companies formed.
All events are open to all members of the research community, including faculty, staff, and students. Join the OCIO in recognizing Celebration of Research month!
