Part 2 of the Switch to Authenticated SMTP, Legacy Server Turn Off

Last year OCIO announced a new SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) relay service as a part of the overall University E-mail Service, which provides improved security and performance. The new service replaced in December 2012. Review a copy of the original communication . Now, as part of the transition to authenticated SMTP, any legacy SMTP servers not mitigated as of May 31, 2013 will be turned off as a security measure. After this date anything pointing to a legacy SMTP server will cease to function, including copier/printer/fax units.
