Helen Patton joins the OSU as Chief Information Security Officer on July 15

HelenPattonAfter a national search, we have selected a new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join our team.  I am pleased to share with you that Helen Patton will join the University as CISO on July 15.

Helen joins us from JP Morgan Chase here in Columbus, where she has worked since 2004.  Helen held a number of positions at JP Morgan Chase, leading to her current role as Executive Director of IT Risk for the Asset Management division.   Helen holds several professional certifications including Information Systems Auditor (CISA) – ISACA, Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) – DRII, and Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) – ISACA.

In addition to her extensive resume and qualifications, Helen is a strong and engaging leader who will be an asset to the Enterprise Security Team, the Compliance Office and the University’s IT community.  Rob Burns, Gary Clark, and Steve Romig will report to Helen.  Please give her a warm welcome when she arrives.

Also, I want to share two important notes of thanks.  First, many thanks to the advisory committee of Gates Garrity-Rokous, Dave Criminski (CISO, Limited Brands, Inc.) Laura Palko, Tom Mowbray, John Schmidt, Gary Clark and Dave Kieffer, who lent their valuable time and insight to the selection process.  Second, I want to send an enormous “thank you” to Gary Clark for his exceptional interim leadership of the Enterprise Security team.  He did a wonderful job of ensuring strong team focus as they completed their numerous fiscal year 13 Blue Chips and prepped for the upcoming year’s goals.
