Following TechOhioState and posting a qualifying comment or photo enters your Google+ profile into each drawing.

A qualifying post for one entry for the iPad Mini contains:

  1. A photo related to technology use at Ohio State. For example, an entry photo can show a student on their mobile device, a faculty member using technology in the classroom, staff members engaging in a Lync conference call, etc.
  2. The +TechOhioState Google+ tag.
  3. The #ThisIsIT hashtag.

A qualifying post for one entry for the $15 iTunes gift card contains:

  1. A comment on the +TechOhioState page related to technology use. Comments can discuss using an OCIO service such as OSU Wireless, OSU Mobile or BuckeyeBox; how you utilize a tech device on campus; asking for IT help; etc.
  2. The +TechOhioState Google+ tag.
  3. The #ThisIsIT hashtag.

General Rules:

  • Entries will be accepted through October 31, 2013. The winners will be announced on the +TechOhioState page by November 8, 2013.
  • Anyone may participate, but only currently (fall semester) enrolled students at Ohio State are eligible to win the iPad Mini and iTunes gift card drawings.
  • Employees of the Office of the CIO are ineligible.
  • By submitting a comment or photo, you are giving us the right to contact you.
  • Comments and photos might be used on websites and in university materials to highlight technology use by OSU students, faculty, and staff.
  • We will send you a consent form for permission to reuse your comment or photo in University print and digital publications via Google+ if we wish to reuse your submission outside of the site. If you list an email in your profile, we will contact you that way. Otherwise, we will send you a private message on Google+ so you can respond with the best way to get in touch.
  • If you take a group photo, multiple people may post it for their own chance to win.
  • It is your responsibility to obtain permission of each individual in the photo before sharing it online.
  • Feel free to submit more than one comment or photo, but no more than two entries (one for each prize) will be given to each student to ensure equal chances of winning for all participants.
  • Submissions from group accounts like departments or student organizations are welcome to participate, but cannot be eligible to win either prize as we are unable to identify an individual winner.
  • Sharing content that we determine in our sole discretion is offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property will disqualify you from the contest and could warrant further action from the university.

If you win:

  • We will contact you via Google+ (email or IM) requesting your name.# to verify your enrollment. We will not share your personal information with anyone. Upon receiving one of the prizes, the winner must show a photo ID.
  • If you submit a comment or photo and change your Google+ profile name, the OCIO is not responsible for finding the new one to contact you. If you do change your information after entering the contest, you can remain eligible by messaging TechOhioState (or techohiostate@gmail.com) so we can contact you if your former account is drawn as one of the winners.
  • The iPad Mini prize will be taxable to the recipient. For this reason, additional identification will be required if the winner is a nonresident alien.
