"Raise the Bar" at Cyber Security Day this October

We’re proud to announce the 2016 Ohio State University Cyber Security Day will take place on Thursday, October 20 at the Ohio Union. This year the theme is raising the bar.

We’re raising the bar on training…

Returning for more in-depth training on Windows Infrastructure Security with a focus on network layer security is Paula Januszkiewicz from CQURE. A world-renown trainer and Microsoft Security Trusted Advisor, Ms. Januszkiewicz has conducted hundreds of IT security audits and penetration tests and has distinct specialization on Microsoft security solutions in which she holds many certifications (MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, MCDBA etc.). Paula is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and is very excited to be joining us for a second year.

For the first time, we will welcome Kevin Johnson from Secure Ideas to the training agenda. Mr. Johnson will be teaching Web Application Hardening and Penetration Testing. He is the CEO of Secure Ideas and has a long history in the IT field including system administration, network architecture and application development. He’s been involved in building incident response and forensic teams, architecting security solutions for large enterprises and penetration testing everything from government agencies to Fortune 100 companies. He is a faculty member at The Institute for Applied Network Security.

We’re raising the bar on peer to peer networking and partnership forming...

This year we will be offering three tracks of Birds of a Feather talks. These hour-long talks will cover a variety of topics from Ohio State framework compliance, the future of security at Ohio State and updates in the regulatory and cyber legal landscape. Topics will include:

  • FY 2016 Security Year Review

  • HIPAA Considerations
  • Multi-factor at Ohio State
  • The Future of Vulnerability Management
  • Compliance Round Table
  • General Computing Tips

We hope you join us for Cyber Security Day and help raise the bar for information security at Ohio State.
