Each year we recognize outstanding student employees with the Barbara A. Glenn Student Scholarship Award. For 2016, the OCIO and ODEE culture teams voted to select two winners, since there were so many excellent nominations. The following two students were each awarded $500 towards their tuition and other fees.
Andrew Feist was nominated by eight of his coworkers in ODEE for his work migrating Carmen courses from D2L to Canvas. One nominator, Aaron Carpenter, said “Andrew is so deserving of this scholarship—he brings a level of knowledge and professionalism that sets the bar of how to be a top-notch student worker.”
Abhinav Hasija was nominated by Mark Runals in Enterprise Security. Abhinav is responsible for creating dashboards and reports using the log management platform Splunk. Mark said “he routinely volunteers to do cross-team projects. He has a positive attitude and service-oriented personality, which reflects well on the Splunk team.”
Many other deserving students were nominated for the Glenn Scholarship this year, and their contributions to the success of OCIO and ODEE should not be overlooked. A big round of applause goes out to Kyle Gordon, Jack Fulton, Bre Lampron and Mohamed Mosbah. You can read their nominations here: Barbara A. Glenn 2016 Winners and Nominees
The Barbara A. Glenn Student Scholarship Award is provided thanks to generous donations from OCIO and ODEE staff through one-time donations and Campus Campaign payroll deductions.
