On September 26, Box, our vendor for BuckeyeBox, will discontinue support for Internet Explorer 9 and 10, including any version of compatibility mode that represents IE9 or IE10 in alignment with Microsoft's support cycle for these products. These browsers pose a security risk since they will no longer receive security updates.
In conjunction with the Mobile First project, The Office of the Chief Information Officer is pleased to announce that we will be upgrading current Lync 2010 users to a new Skype for Business service beginning October 5.
Beginning August 17, there will be a new automated process for university employees to request Instant Messaging and Presence (Lync). As previously announced, The Office of the Chief Information Officer will no longer be automatically provisioning all university employees to receive the service.
Current IM and Presence users will not need to take any action. This request process is only for the following types of users who do not currently have IM and Presence capabilities:
Enterprise Security is releasing BuckeyePass, a multi-factor authentication service that provides a second level of protection beyond your usual Ohio State username and password. BuckeyePass is powered by Duo Security, a leading IT security company.
Beginning September 12, all university employees, including student employees, will be required to use BuckeyePass to log in to Employee Self Service within Human Resources.
