The next generation of television has arrived at Ohio State. Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) television, also known as 4K TV, launched on the Office of the Chief Information Officer’s cable television service on March 8 with the NASA 4K channel. Boasting a resolution of 3840 x 2160 for 8.3 megapixels, 4K TV is far more advanced than 1080p HD’s previous best resolution of 1920 x 1080 for 2 megapixels.

On February 9, Microsoft will begin to push automatic upgrades of Office 365 ProPlus 2016 to students currently using copies of Office 365 ProPlus 2013 for Windows installed via the Student Advantage/Office 365 Software Portal. This process will take a couple months as Microsoft will only be pushing the upgrade to 1–5% of the student population each day. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing when someone will receive the upgrade.
We have some exciting news for Apple iOS and OSX users! Our network engineers have heard your feedback and recently released a new wireless utility (Aruba QuickConnect) that prioritizes osuwireless over WiFi@OSU.
So, what does that mean? Now, after using the WiFi@OSU network to configure your devices for osuwireless, the devices will not automatically join WiFi@OSU, allowing you to seamlessly use osuwireless without intermittently bouncing between the two networks.
The OCIO is now providing The Ohio State University's Columbus campus cable TV customers with commercial-free holiday music on channel 122.2.
The special holiday programming features festive music favorites recorded by artists from all genres. It will be available through December 25.
Basic cable service is standard in most university housing areas and an option that can be ordered by customers in other campus housing areas and administrative offices.
Box is making updates to the web application in order to improve the user experience. These changes will begin rolling out on Tuesday, October 27, with expected completion by the end of Monday, November 2. The experience has a new look and feel, is more intuitive and includes performance improvements such as increased speed of use. The changes are mainly design focused, with minor functionality updates.
