It’s not surprising to see record usage of technology at Ohio State during the first week of autumn semester 2014, but that doesn’t make the numbers any less impressive! In a single day, OCIO recorded highs of 7.8 million authentications to "osuwireless" and "WiFi@OSU" along with 50,000 simultaneously connected devices to our university network with 91,000 unique device connections. Student’s increasing use of wireless-dependent devices drives this growth, and the Ohio State Mobile App is constantly upping its offerings to meet their needs.
OCIO’s Enterprise Applications team has been testing and perfecting their mobile version of SEIs, or Student Evaluations of Instruction. Beginning with the current summer term, all Ohio State students will be able to take these brief surveys through the OSU Mobile app on their smartphones and tablets.
Students, be sure to try out OSU Mobile when completing your SEIs!
Faculty, encourage your students to complete an SEI on a smartphone or tablet during the last day of class!
The Enterprise Applications team in the Office of the CIO reviews OSU Mobile on an ongoing basis. When they receive suggestions from users for improvements, they work on making those improvements reality. Here are a few examples of recent upgrades to the OSU Mobile App:
