On March 1, 2012, webmail.osu.edu, the site for web access to university-provided e-mail services for faculty, staff and students, will merge with email.osu.edu, the front door for the University E-mail Service.
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will be retiring the OSU Webmail service (also known as SunJava) on March 1, 2012, as part of the university-wide initiative to transition all faculty and staff e-mail services to the new University E-mail Service. All e-mail accounts and mailboxes accessed through the OSU Webmail service need to be moved by January 27.
Recently, the techniques used by hackers and e-mail spammers have gotten more and more sophisticated. While it's obvious that a spammer sent an e-mail from a Nigerian widow seeking to transfer $10 million USD, sometimes things aren't that clear. New scams seem to appear everyday and hackers are now turning to cold calling over the phone to acquire your sensitive information.
A “facelift” is in the works for webmail.osu.edu, the landing page for web access to university-provided e-mail systems for faculty, staff and students. The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and University Communications are working jointly on the page updates and will implement them in two phases.
