Important Request to Verify Area System Users for 2017

Data Stewards, Senior Fiscal Officers (SFOs), Human Resource Professionals (HRPs) and other administrative system contacts will be receiving an email from OCIO Data Security with information and instructions on how to verify their area’s Financials, Human Resources, Medical Center Financials and Student Information System users for 2017. Your attention regarding this mandated annual activity is very important. The notification emails are currently being sent with a requested deadline to confirm area users by Friday, March 31, 2017.

New SRA Options in Employee Self Service

This is a reminder that starting March 6, 2017, new options for accessing Supplemental Retirement Accounts (SRA) became available in Employee Self Service. Instead of one link for both type of accounts, there will be separate links for 403(b) and 457(b) accounts. The enhancement is intended to reduce confusion for employees and reduce the number of steps to enroll or make changes. Printable SRA confirmation statements will also be available for employees who enroll or make changes to their accounts.

What a Human Resource Professional (HRP) needs to do:

  • Let employees know that SRA accounts will have separate links and that printable confirmation statements will be available.
  • Refer any additional SRA questions to HR customer service at HR@osu.edu or 614-292-1050.

PCard Program Changes

The PCard Program is making changes to ensure compliance with applicable laws/regulations and to streamline processing, including:

Change 1: Additional requirements have been added to the Group/Extended Travel (GET) Card to meet Auditor of State (Ohio) requirements relative to ATM use. See full article for details.

Change 2: Effective April 1, 2017, all PCard Applications and Maintenance Forms must be submitted via DocuSign.

Finance System Maintenance affects eMat, eRequest, eTravel and eReports/Data Warehouse 2/25

There is planned maintenance for the Finance System that will require downtime for eMaterials, eRequest, eTravel and eReports/Data Warehouse reporting services.

OCIO technicians will be performing maintenance on the Financials System from 7 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 25 as part of the normal weekend maintenance window. The eMaterials, eRequest, eTravel and eReports/Data Warehouse reporting services will be unavailable during this maintenance period as well.

Implementing Workday for Finance, HR and Student systems

Ohio State is moving forward with implementing Workday for our Finance, HR and Student systems. Unlike past implementations and upgrades, we will be working to implement Workday for Finance and HR simultaneously with a Student system move to Workday following quickly behind. The direction of this new Enterprise Project reduces the overall cost and complexity of the move, but is a unique approach.
