New Financial Training Items in BuckeyeLearn

The Financial Training team would like to share the following training updates, including:

– A new “BuckIQ for the Financials Professional” course
– A new “General Ledger 1: Accounting Basics” training element (now a streamlined .pdf)
– An enhanced “Business Responsibilities” course (formerly a lecture session)

3/4 Maintenance and downtime for the HR and Student Systems

Maintenance on the HR and Student systems is planned for the first weekend in March. There will be some additional downtime beginning Saturday, March 4, at 5 p.m. Services will resume at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, as usual.

PeopleSoft Human Resources and Buckeye Link (Campus Solutions/Student Information System) services will be affected including:

  • Employee Self Service
  • My Buckeye Link (formerly Student Center)
  • Faculty Center

Other applications, such as eTime and Leave, and the Ohio State App will not be affected by the downtime.

January eStores Hosted Catalog Updates

As mentioned in the original December 19 notification, the Affymetrix catalog has been removed from eStores.

The three suppliers listed below now offer specific products through the Life Technologies (ThermoFisher Scientific) catalog in eStores:

  • Affymetrix – microarray solutions
  • USB – molecular biology reagents
  • eBioscience – immunology antibodies, reagents and assays

Nalco’s hosted catalog has also been removed from eStores.

Register for February Business Travel Workshop Sessions by February 20

The Ohio State University Travel Office is announcing that registration is open in BuckeyeLearn for the 2017 Business Travel Workshop Sessions. Each day will include a session of the Introductory Travel Workshop and the Advanced Travel Workshop.

Reminder, Travel Agency Feedback Wanted

In a continuing effort to ensure the best level of service is delivered through Ohio State’s designated travel agencies, the Travel Office needs your feedback. Access the Travel Agency Feedback Form as found on the Travel Office Web site and provide your feedback. This form allows users (travelers, arrangers and approvers) the opportunity to share opinions about their experiences.

Restricted Data in Attachments

When using any of Ohio State’s online eApplications systems (eTravel, eRequest, HR Action, etc.) that allow for the attachment of files, it is important to remember to remove any restricted data from the attachments.

Restricted data requires the highest level of protection due to legal, regulatory, administrative, contractual, rule or policy requirements. Access to and management of restricted data is strictly limited as unauthorized use or disclosure could substantially or materially impact the university’s mission, operations, reputation, finances or result in identity theft.

Restricted data includes items such as Social Security Numbers, medical information and full credit card numbers. Restricted data elements should NEVER be included in any attachment.
