Office for the Mac Now Available

Microsoft recently released its newest version of their Office suite for the Macintosh, Office:mac 2011. Office 2011 includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Communicator, Messenger, and Remote Desktop. This new version comes with Outlook 2011 and is compatible with the new University E-mail Service Microsoft Exchange server.

Office 2011 requires a Mac computer with an Intel processor and Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later.

Office 2011 Standard for Mac is available at WiredOut for departmental and personal use, and on the Site Licensed Software Coordinator portion of the OSU SLS web site for departmental use at http://osusls.osu.edu

Departmental and personal use versions of this software may be obtained through WiredOut, in the Central Classroom Building.

Pricing for this software at WiredOut is as follows:

  • Departmental install media, available only for on campus use on Ohio State owned machines under the Microsoft Campus Agreement (DVD: $7.99)
  • Work-at-home departmental media, which may be used by an employee to install Office on a personally owned machine for *work purposes*, (DVD: $8.99)
  • Personal use, which may be used by a student, faculty, or staff on a personally owned machine ($63.95)
