Service Change: OCIO Administrative Calling Card

The Office of the CIO is transitioning off-campus long distance telephone service to an external vendor, CenturyLink, on July 1, 2013.

Long distance telephone service used from authorized on-campus telephones (in administrative buildings and residential housing areas) are not impacted by this transition.

Existing customers with the OCIO administrative calling card use this service by dialing a dedicated telephone number, then entering an authorization code and PIN. The PIN for making calls from off-campus locations will not be valid for these accounts after July 1. The existing authorization codes will continue to work from authorized campus telephones in OSU administrative and residential housing areas.

If you have an OCIO administrative calling card account and would like to continue making off-campus long distance phone calls for university business, you must contact the IT Service Desk at or 614-688-HELP(4357). We will facilitate the transition of your service and delivery of your physical CenturyLink WorldCard® calling card. Each individual user will have their own physical card, even if several customers utilize the same administrative account.

The CenturyLink WorldCard® provides these benefits:

  • Competitive long distance rates
    • Domestic Long Distance:  2.9 cents per minute
      (a 36% discount from the current rate)
    • International per minute rates vary
    • 25 cents per call surcharge applies to all long distance dialing
  • 24 x 7 end user support provided through CenturyLink WorldCard® Customer Support Center
  • No separate CenturyLink WorldCard® bill to manage; all WorldCard charges will be billed by OCIO through the university’s general ledger
