Edit: The WOW Affinity program ended in February 2020.
Ohio State is fortunate to have a long-standing affinity program with WOW Internet Cable and Phone. This program helps fund grants that advance innovative teaching and learning and increase access to higher education through technology. It’s easy to see why the program is a winner:
- Ohio State faculty, staff and students receive discounted rates for internet, cable television and phone services through the program, while also helping to fund projects that will make higher education more affordable.
- The university receives capital to fund grants for projects that improve access to higher education, increase student engagement, facilitate instructor efficiency improvements and enable anyplace/anytime learning through technology.
- WOW Internet Cable and Phone gains additional customers and has the opportunity to demonstrate its dedication to accessible higher education by helping fund Ohio State’s grants.
Between 2010 and 2015, Ohio State's faculty and staff transformed students' learning by building adaptive online systems, introducing mobile technology and exploring cutting-edge teaching methods. The Office of Distance Education and eLearning provides grants to support these developments by providing funding, time, expertise and project structure. Over the years, these collaborations have impacted more than 40,000 students for less than $70 per impact.
To receive the monthly discount, faculty, students or staff must authenticate through a special OCIO phone line at 614-292-7100 to verify enrollment and/or employment with Ohio State.
Current WOW Internet Cable and Phone subscribers who want to receive Ohio State Affinity Program discounts may do so by calling 614-292-7100 to reach a WOW Internet Cable and Phone customer service representative. Inform the representative that you are a current customer and would like to participate in the Ohio State Affinity Program.
