In response to requests from many across our community, we recently made system updates that allow you to maintain and display a preferred first name in several systems (SIS, HR, my.osu.edu). These systems can now synchronize and share your preferred first name.
What is a preferred first name?
A new, refreshed look and feel is coming to Ohio State's online Faculty, Staff and Student Directory (Find People)! Each day the "Find People" page is viewed by thousands of visitors, both internal and external to Ohio State. The target release date for the change is 11 p.m. EST., on Wednesday, March 26.
According to the Voice of the User Community Survey, the vast majority of faculty, staff, and students are satisfied with the OCIO’s core services. We asked 9,000 users across campus how they felt overall about OCIO services, aiming to reach an 80% satisfaction rating for FY13. At fiscal year-end, we have actually surpassed the 80% goal, with 93.1% of survey respondents indicating they are very satisfied, satisfied, or neutral with OCIO core services. More than 70,000 Ohio State faculty, students and staff have visited my.osu.edu to initiate their first password change, transitioning them to the new Identity and Access Management (IdM) System and contributing to the university’s efforts to consolidate disparate account management processes. The IdM Program’s foundation provides important security and identity management functions across the university in addition to password changing.
