Student Life contracts with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to provide telephone and cable TV services to students living in residence halls and university-owned apartments on Ohio State's Regional Campuses at Mansfield, Newark and Wooster (ATI and OARDC).

 Local Telephone Service
Upon moving in, local telephone service* is already active in your Mansfield, Newark, or Wooster (ATI and OARDC) Campus residence hall room or apartment. This service is provided as part of your housing contract with Student Life and doe not need to be ordered.

Local telephone service* includes touchtone dialing capabilities; free and unlimited, campus, local, and domestic long distance calling;** caller ID and call waiting features; and 9-1-1 access to the local Police or Public Safety Department in your county. You can verify your telephone number by plugging a telephone into the phone jack in your room and then dialing 2-7777 or by contacting the IT Service Desk at 614-688-4357.

*NOTE: You need to provide your own telephone instrument and cords. A telephone with a Caller ID display is required to use the Caller ID feature.

**NOTE: International calling is not included. If you need to place international long distance calls, the Office of the CIO offers a couple of inexpensive options. These options may be ordered at anytime and are billed to the person ordering service.

 Call Waiting Feature
This feature allows you to answer a second incoming telephone call, temporarily placing the first caller on hold.

How to use Call Waiting:
While talking with the first caller, you will hear a beep tone in your ear. Simply depress your telephone switchhook or flash/link button. This will place your first caller on hold and connect you to your second incoming caller. After you have finished your conversation with the second caller, depress your switchhook again and you will be reconnected with your first caller.

 Caller ID
Caller ID is a standard feature on the telephone line in your university housing room. The service provides telephone number identification only for incoming local and campus calls. A telephone instrument with a Caller ID display is required to utilize this feature.

 Voice Mail
Voice mail is an optional service for an additional fee in Mansfield, Newark and Wooster housing locations. The voice mail service can be ordered from the OCIO's IT Service Desk at 614-688-4357.
